GTA 3 Alternate Universe Script Part II (Sayonara Salvatore - A Drop In The Ocean) - Claude Speed (voiced by Jason Mewes)

Sayonara Salvatore

Claude heads over to Asuka's condo in Newport, and finds Asuka relaxing near her swimming pool.

Claude: Hello, Asuka?

Asuka: Well, if it isn't my newly found potential. We have certain issues to clear up before we can continue any form of relationship, business or otherwise.

Claude: Let's lay our cards on the table then.

Asuka: I am Yakuza and I know you have been working for Salvatore Leone's organization.

Claude: I don't think I'll be working for him anymore after his little stunt. Besides, the Yakuza sounds a lot more respectable and honorable.

Asuka: Exactly, what we Yakuza are all about is honor. And it makes me glad to hear you won't be his errand boy. I think that's the most you could ever have expected to be from chaps such as them, and we'll give you much more interesting work in our organization. But first you must prove you are just as much action as you are the charming words you just spoke.

Claude: Well, it's time to truly break free of the Mafia's shackles. Do you know what Salvatore is up to?

Asuka: Salvatore should be leaving Luigi's club in about three hours time, Claude-san. Make sure he doesn't reach his mansion alive. There should be a sniper rifle across Luigi's club on the roof. Good luck.

Maria: Oh, Asuka, you've got a massager.

Asuka Kasen: That's not a massager.

Claude leaves the condo in the cutscene.

Claude: (talking to himself) Gone are the days of all-you-can-eat pasta buffets, and now I've got some serious business. Let's go see this asshole.

Claude heads over to Portland. Regardless of what course of action the player takes, Claude eventually manages to eliminate Salvatore Leone. Mission complete. The Leone Mafia is now hostile to Claude.

If Salvatore's bodyguards have spotted Claude, they will say this line:

Leone Bodyguard: There he is! Waste him!

Under Surveillance

Claude heads over to Asuka's condo, and sees Asuka and Kenji Kasen.

Claude: So, Asuka, I am sure that Salvatore's death comes across as pleasurable news?

Asuka: Indeed, Claude-san. You are an efficient killer, I like that in a man. Oh, here's my brother, Kenji.

Kenji: Hello, Claude-san. I am hearing a lot of good about you. Asuka has this job for you, but when you get done, drop by my casino and we can talk.

Asuka: That's just like Kenji, always trying to play with my toys.

Claude: So, we have a major issue at hand, correct.

Asuka. Yes, the Mafia are now really butthurt you erased Salvatore.

Claude: We're gonna have to build them a tissue box factory, I guess.

Asuka: (laughs) Yeah, but now they are mounting a surveillance operation to watch over our interests over the city in a bid to track you down. We cannot continue our operations until they are dealt with, so take out these spying fools and end this vendetta once and for all.

Claude: It would give me resounding pleasure.

Claude exits the condo in the cutscene. He then gets a phone call from Kenji, who offers him a sniper rifle. If the player does not have a sniper rifle, Dialogue A will play. If the player does have a sniper rifle, Dialogue B will play.

Dialogue A

Kenji: Claude, these Mafia people are especially dangerous. I have left you a sniper rifle which should assist you.

Claude: Thanks Kenji!

Kenji: Good luck.

Dialogue B

Kenji: Claude, it's nice to know you're good at using a sniper rifle. For these pesky targets, however, I've left you some extra ammunition to help your cause. Good luck!

Claude picks up the sniper rifle before the six-and-a-half minute time begins if Dialogue A played. If Dialogue B played, the timer begins immediately after the cutscenes. Claude goes over to three locations across Staunton Island in any order the player chooses. At Belleville Park, he eliminates two Leone family members, and in Torrington he kills two Leone family members with a black Rumpo van. At Kenji's Casino, six Leone family members on the balconies of an opposite building await Claude, but he makes them disappear. Mission complete. Two in-game minutes later, Claude gets a phone call from an irate and vengeful Toni Cipriani, who is clearly upset about Claude's assassination of Salvatore Leone earlier.

Post-mission phone call

Claude: Hello, yes?

Toni: Do you fucking know what you have done, ASSHOLE?!?! That was my family, you degenerate!!

Claude: Look, Toni, Salvatore was a God-damned psycho. He snitched on me, and my guess is, he would have driven the knife into your back too if it wasn't for me and my newly found Japanese friends.

Toni: I swear to God, you're a fucking dead man! Me and Joey are going to make you wish you were never born, ya hear me?!! We will fucking hunt you down!

Claude: Eh, whatever you say, Chef Boyardee! (laughs)

Toni: YOU'RE DEAD!!!

Claude hangs up.

Claude: Wow, his momma was right about him. What a sore Portland loser, heh heh heh.

Paparazzi Purge

Claude goes to Asuka Kasen's condo in Newport, and finds a note waiting for him to read.

Claude: Hmm, Asuka isn't here? Oh, a note.

Asuka Kasen (voice): A reporter has been nosing around. Maria and I have taken a little holiday together until you can get rid of this perverted voyeur. He's probably out in the bay as you read this! Steal a police boat, and sink his career!

Claude: Roger that, Asuka.

Claude goes outside the condo and finds the reporter mooring his Speeder in the bay. Claude steals a Predator, then shoots at the reporter's boat until it explodes, killing him. Mission complete.

Payday For Ray

Claude goes to Asuka Kasen's condo in Newport.

Claude: People won't be hearing about your noble organization on the news, Asuka.

Asuka: It's my handsome handyman! Maria's all tied up at the moment, but I'll tell her you called.

Maria (voice): Who's that, Asuka? Please tell me it's Claude! Look, I've been a naughty girl, but I really need to pee, OK?

Asuka: Sorry about that commotion. You'll need more connections to make the most out of this place, and we need to repay the favor to our inside man in the LCPD for the last job he did for us. The guy's name is Ray Machowski, Claude-san. He is understandably cautious, and I can't say I know his current whereabouts.

Claude: So, how can I best communicate with Ray, Asuka?

Asuka: There's payphones all across Staunton he communicates with to certain people at certain times. I think he will call the pay phone in Torrington first, so I'd start there. He should have your instructions. Come back and Maria and I will make it worth your while.

Claude leaves Asuka's condo, and heads for the payphone in Torrington. The timer starts immediately after the first cutscene, and the player must complete the mission in three and a half minutes. Claude eventually reaches the payphone in Torrington and answers it.

Ray (distorted voice): Get to the phone in west Belleville Park.

Claude then goes to the payphone in west Belleville Park and answers it.

Ray (distorted voice): Get to the phone on Liberty Campus.

Claude then reaches the payphone in Liberty Campus and answers it.

Ray (distorted voice): Get to the phone in south Belleville Park.

Claude hangs up the phone.

Claude: I don't know how much more of this wild goose chase I can take.

Claude then reaches the payphone in south Belleville Park and answers it.

Ray (distorted voice): You must be who I need to speak to. Meet me at the toilet block in the park.

Claude goes to the underground toilet block in Belleville Park, where he finally meets Asuka's partner in person.

Ray: So, you must be Asuka's new errand boy!

Claude: Indeed. Claude Speed here at your service.

Ray: You got Asuka's money?

Claude: Here's your cut, courtesy of Asuka Kasen.

Ray: Good. Never known Asuka or Kenji to deviate from keeping my wallets greased.

Claude: Money makes the world go around.

Ray: Amen to that. I know, I know, I'm just a bent cop. Well, it's a bent world!

Claude: Preach.

Ray: And just because I lost a few partners, those suckers from internal affairs have started sniffing around. Reckon they could smell me. Well, this city is one big open sewer!

Claude: Tell me about it. Let me guess... you're looking for some "non-union" help. Look no further than me, Ray.

Ray: Good, good, and you'll know where to find me.

Mission complete.

Two-Faced Tanner

Claude goes to Asuka Kasen's condo in Newport, and again finds a note detailing instructions for his next job.

Claude: Another note, another dollar. A recurring trend in this place.

Asuka Kasen (voice): Maria and I have gone "shopping." Our source in the police has informed us that one of our drivers is a strangely animated undercover cop! He's more or less useless out of his car, so we've tagged it with a tracer. Make him bleed!

Claude leaves the condo.

Claude (talking to himself): Another bent cop getting too big for his shoes. I just hope Ray has nothing to do with this... Ray seems like someone who can point me the right way.

Claude goes to Kenji's Casino, where he spots Tanner fleeing the casino and driving away in an Esperanto, and subsequently attacks him.

Police Dispatch: Undercover officer requesting immediate backup and clean underwear, cover blown.

Claude attacks Tanner's Esperanto to the point where Tanner abandons it and flees while the cops attempt to stop Claude. Claude then kills Tanner to complete the mission, but he will still have a four-star wanted level.

Kanbu Bust-out

Claude meets Kenji Kasen at the rooftop garden of his casino, and they both prostrate, as it is a custom of respect in Japan, where the Yakuza is originally from.

Kenji: So, you are Claude-san?

Claude: Err... yeah, Mr. Kasen.

Kenji: You can call me Kenji. I am Asuka's brother, and she speaks highly of you. I've seen many gaijin try to take advantage of our mighty organization, so I can only hope that you will not be a disappointment. You look like someone with an actual future going for himself.

Claude: Failure isn't in my vocabulary, Kenji. I can see you are a man of honor in a very dishonorable world.

Kenji: So, you can help deal with a situation that currently has me at a disadvantage. A Yakuza Kanbu is in custody awaiting transfer for trial. He is a valued member of the family. Break him out of custody and get him to the dojo at Bedford Point.

Claude steals a police car, arms it with a bomb at 8-Ball Autos in Newport, takes it to the the Staunton Island Police Headquarters in Torrington, sneaks in through the gate, parks the car next to the cell and detonates the bomb. The car explodes after a few seconds, setting off the alarm and leaving a huge hole in Kanbu's cell.

Police Dispatch: Terrorist attack on police headquarters, all units respond immediately.

Claude and Kanbu leave the police headquarters, lose the cops and head to the Hyaku Dojo in Bedford Point. Before exiting the vehicle, Kanbu says a Japanese quote that is reused from one of many random dialogues spoken by Yakuza members in freeroam. Mission complete.

Grand Theft Auto

Claude meets Kenji Kasen at his casino rooftop garden, and they both prostrate.

Kenji: The Kanbu would like to express his gratitude to you for helping him escape wrongful imprisonment, Claude-san. It is impossible to over-estimate the importance of etiquette in this line of work.

Claude: Or any profession, for that matter. Go on.

Kenji: To my eternal shame, a man once did me a favor and I have never had the opportunity to repay his kindness. The man's weakness is motor cars and he has requested that we acquire him certain models for his collection. Needless to say, we must give him the cars as a gift, to repay the debt that I owe him.

Claude: And these vehicles are located all over Staunton, Kenji?

Kenji: Correct. They are exquisite cars, and there is a garage behind the car park in Newport where you must stash the cars. And they must be in mint condition. I see you too share my view that we are men of honor. And our honor demands it.

Claude goes to get three cars on the list: a Stinger at the Liberty Tree office parking lot in Bedford Point, an Infernus at the Liberty Memorial Coliseum parking lot in Aspatria, and a Cheetah at the Carson General Hospital parking lot in Rockford. He delivers the vehicles in mint condition to a garage in Newport to complete the mission.

Deal Steal

Claude meets Kenji at his casino's garden rooftop garden, where again they prostrate as a custom of respect.

Kenji: My sister tells me through a mutual acquaintance of hers that you had worked with the Colombian Cartel.

Claude: Until I was left for dead by them, Kenji. I never really saw eye to eye with them, though.

Kenji: Good. I can see you hold just as much of a vehement dislike of them as I do, Claude-san.

Claude: And the Colombians have been threatening the Yakuza's interests in Liberty City?

Kenji: They have been endangering everyone's interests for far too long. And the Colombian Cartel have ignored repeated requests to leave our interests in Liberty well alone. Now, they are negotiating terms with the Jamaicans in order to humiliate us further. We have a saying where I come from that when trouble looms, the fool turns his back while the wise man faces it down.

Claude: I'm not one to let Catalina and Miguel keep gaming the system after what they've done. So, the Colombians and Jamaicans are finalizing a deal?

Kenji: Correct, Claude-san. Their meeting is at the hospital in Rockford. One of my men awaits your presence in Aspatria. You will need to steal a Yardie car and fool the Colombians into thinking you're a Yardie. Then you will ambush them. Leave no Colombian alive! Good luck.

Claude steals a Yardie Lobo, and picks up the Yakuza member in Aspatria.

Yakuza member: You must be Kenji's contact - alright, let's hit those Colombian pigs!

Claude drives to the meeting place at the Carson General Hospital, where Colombian Cartel members expect to make a deal with the Yardies. The Cartel is caught off-guard as the Yakuza member gets out of the Yardie Lobo and shoots at them.

Colombian Cartel member: It's a Yakuza trap, man!

Claude and the Yakuza member kill all of the Colombian Cartel members, destroy the Cartel's vehicles, steal the briefcase and get back into the Yardie Lobo.

Yakuza member: Okay, take us back to Kenji's Casino.

Claude drives back to Kenji's Casino to complete the mission.

Shima

Claude meets Kenji at his casino's rooftop garden and they once again prostrate.

Kenji: To be truly strong, it is important that you never show weakness.

Claude: I agree, go on.

Kenji: The businesses who are fortunate enough to have our protection settle their accounts today. Go and collect the money immediately, so we can enter it into the casino accounts.

Claude gets a briefcase from one location in Torrington, then another in Bedford Point, where he encounters a Diablos member.

Claude: The Diablos? What are they doing in Staunton?

Claude kills the Diablos member and retrieves the second briefcase. Claude then heads to Uncle BJ's Deli & Groceries in Belleville Park, only to find it vandalized. Claude attempts to go inside the store, but is stopped by the store's clerk.

Store Clerk: I can't pay you and I wouldn't pay you if I could! Some young gang just jacked out the place. They took everything! You guys are useless. What kind of Yakuza are you anyway?! (slams the door)

Claude: One that's gonna get your money eventually, you dumb prick! Those Diablos must be up to something. I'd better let Kenji know about this immediately. (calls Kenji's number on his cell phone) Hey Kenji, this is Claude - the Diablos ransacked the store west of the park.

Kenji: Figures - some of our men have spotted those young upstarts around Staunton since the Callahan Bridge re-opened. They have no honor whatsoever! The store owner's money must be over in Hepburn Heights - go and pay your respects to the Diablos.

Claude goes over to Hepburn Heights where the remaining protection money is being kept by the Diablos, kills all the Diablo members guarding the briefcase, takes the briefcase and drives back to Kenji's Casino, completing the mission.

Smack Down

Claude goes to meet Kenji at his casino's rooftop garden - but this time, Claude quickly finds out Kenji is outraged at him for his supposed failure to dissuade the Colombian Cartel and the Uptown Yardies from working together. Kenji wastes no time in making his fury known to Claude.

Kenji: YOU! How fitting you should choose this moment to show your worthless face -

Claude: Wait a minute, what's going on?

Kenji: I don't want to hear it! Your attempts to dissuade the Jamaicans from becoming bedfellows with the Cartel proved to be wholly inadequate!

Claude: How?! I thought we had an excellent plan to fool the Colombians!

Kenji: It doesn't matter - the Yardie pushers are lining up Liberty's streets selling packets of SPANK like they were selling hot dogs! Those Cartel pigs are laughing at us, at me! I will give you one last chance to prove my sister's faith in you to be well founded! Run these scumbags into the ground and wash your shame in rivers of our enemies' blood!!!

Claude drives around Staunton Island and kills at least eight SPANK-dealing Yardie members to complete the mission. Later on, Claude receives a phone call from Kenji Kasen after the mission.

Post-mission phone call

Kenji: Hello, Claude-san? It's Kenji. I was in error - one of our members had snitched on our plan to fool the Cartel and we, so to speak, made him disappear. My sincere apologies for the fit of rage I incorrectly threw in your direction.

Claude: Okay, Kenji. You shouldn't have to worry about the SPANK-pushers anymore - they're dealt with. Keep me posted about any further opportunities.

Silence The Sneak

Claude goes to see Ray Machowski at the underground toilets in Belleville Park.

Ray: (snorting and groveling sounds)

Claude: Hey, Ray? Where are you?

Ray: Hold up, give me a second... (flushes toilet and walks out bathroom stall) Hrrmmph! That scumbag McAffrey, he took more bribes than anyone.

Claude: This a former partner of yours, Ray?

Ray: Yeah, and the dipshit thinks he's gonna get an honorable discharge if he turns states' evidence! The bastard just squealed! He's under armed protection in WitSec property down in Newport, some apartment behind the car park. Torch that place, that should flush 'em out, and you'll hunt 'em down. Make sure he never talks to nobody.

Claude: I'll see to it your former partner's out of the equation, Ray.

Claude goes to Leon McAffrey's Apartment in Newport, and throws either a Molotov Cocktail or a Grenade into the window, causing an explosion inside the apartment room. McAffrey then attempts to escape with a police escort in a Sentinel.

Police Dispatch: Calling all cars: officers require urgent assistance in Newport.

Claude kills McAffrey, thus completing the mission.

Arms Shortage

Claude goes to see Ray Machowski at the underground toilets in Belleville Park.

Claude: Hey, Ray? Hmm... are you here?

Ray: Hey, Claude, over here! (Ray is revealed to be behind a toilet stall.)

Ray: An old army buddy of mine runs a business up in Rockford. We saw action in Nicaragua, back when this country knew what the hell it was doing.

Claude: I won't argue with that.

Ray: Anyway, some Cartel scum roughed him up yesterday, and said they'd be back for some of his stock today.

Claude: I never turn down a chance to get even with those Colombian asswipes.

Ray: He's definitely gonna need you as back-up, and in return, he's got military grade hardware and he'll give you knock-down rates on any new weapons you buy.

Claude: Awesome - a total win-win situation. What's his name, Ray?

Ray: Phil. Phil Cassidy. Moved here in the mid-nineties. I'd go along with you, but the old sciatica's playing up (cough) so, er, hrmmm, good luck Claude.

Claude walks out of the toilet block.

Claude (talking to himself): Neat-o - if this goes without a hitch, I've got access to the arsenal I need to take down Catalina. Nice...

Claude swings by Phil's Army Surplus in Rockford to meet Ray's old army buddy.

Claude: You're Phil Cassidy, right? Thank you for your service.

Phil: That's right son. Well, Ray phoned ahead, and I thought there'd be lot more of you.

Claude: We'll do great as a team.

Phil: I can't believe those yellow-bellied bastards left me without proper cover again! Well, three arms are better than one.

Claude: How'd you lose your arm?

Phil: Let's just say whatever your superior officer tells you not to do, don't do it. Grab whatever you need and be on red alert, those Colombians will be here any minute!

Claude grabs whatever weapons he can to prepare for the incoming onslaught of Colombian Cartel members, who soon arrive at the base.

Phil: Goddamn they're here! LOCK 'N' LOAD!

Claude: Locked and loaded!

Claude kills all of the Colombian Cartel attackers, and then goes to check on Phil.

Claude: That was like a scene out of World War IV!

Phil: Heh-hey! If I'd teamed up with you in Nicaragua, maybe I'd still have my left arm!

Claude: Anytime Catalina's goons eat lead is a great time!

Phil: I got some super-duty firepower here if you need it, just drop on by and take what you need from the lockers and leave the cash under the bench. Now get outta here.

Claude: What about the cops?

Phil: I'll handle the cops.

Claude: See you around, Phil.

Mission complete.

Evidence Dash

Claude goes to see Ray Machowski at the underground toilets in Belleville Park, who is once again behind a toilet stall and wants Claude to get to know Donald Love, an influential businessman in Liberty City.

Ray: Hey Claude, you heard of Donald Love?

Claude: Who hasn't? Top media mogul in the country, and he just came back here after a hiatus. Anyone who says they never heard of him is lying.

Ray: Yeah, and he's got a lighter, soft side to him and shall we say exotic tastes and the money to indulge them. He's involved in a legal matter and the prosecution has some rather embarrassing photos of him at a morgue party or whatever it's called.

Claude: You learn something new everyday.

Ray: The evidence is being driven across town. You are going to have to ram that car and collect each little bit of evidence as it falls out. When you've got it all, leave it in the car and torch it. And you're not just helping me, you've also got a big chance to meet one of the world's most important men. We're both gonna do pretty well outta this, Claude.

Claude gets a car, and then finds a Bobcat that's transporting evidence across Staunton Island. He rams the truck until all bits of evidence fall out and collects them, then leaves his car and destroys it. Mission complete.

Gone Fishing

Claude goes to see Ray Machowski at the underground toilets in Belleville Park, who then walks out of one of the toilet stalls.

Ray: I think my partner's a rat!

Claude: I thought you meant -?

Ray: No, another guy. We gotta shut him up permanently. He goes fishing out of his boat near the lighthouse on Portland Rock most nights.

Claude: Strange, I think I remember someone once saying on the radio the waters around here are too polluted. Wouldn't he get sick from the contaminated fish?

Ray: He's a strange fellow. Always has been. But he's eating the fishes, not sleeping with them. So, anyways, steal a police boat and make sure his back stabbing plans are sunk!

Claude: Got it, Ray.

Claude goes  to get a Predator and makes his way to Portland Rock near Portland Beach, where Ray Machowski's Partner is fishing by using Grenades, killing several fish, then sees Claude and attempts to escape in his boat. Claude kills off Ray's partner, completing the mission, and mocks Ray's now deceased former partner.

Claude: You needed a bigger boat, mister.

Plaster Blaster

Claude goes to see Ray Machowski at the underground toilets in Belleville Park. However, Ray is furious due to Leon McAffrey somehow surviving the hit on him in the mission Silence the Sneak.

Ray: YOU USELESS BASTARD!

Claude: HEY WHOA WHOA WHOA?!

Ray: Don't you "whoa" me!!

Claude: What the hell happened?!

Ray: You totally fucked up! My ass is on the line and you can't even kill a God damned fly?!!

Claude: Well, what do I look like to you - a fly swatter? (makes mock fly swatting mannerisms)

Ray: Don't get smart with me, you clown! (Claude snorts, clearly holding back laughter) I paid you damned good money to kill that witness, and he ain't dead!

Claude: You're kidding?! That rat McAffrey? I could've sworn I killed him! The guy must be a zombie or something!

Ray: He somehow survived whatever it was you did, well let this be a damned good lesson: you always double check your work! If only everyone else in the LCPD followed my example.

Claude: Where is McAffrey now?

Ray: He's being moved any second now from the Carson General Hospital up in Rockford, and today he's gonna make a Federal Deposition!

Claude: OK, Ray - look, I promise you, I will not fail this time.

Ray: Well, if he squeals, I squeal...

Claude goes to find the Ambulance transporting McAffrey's body from the Carson General Hospital and intercepts it before it arrives at the Staunton Island Police Headquarters.

Police Dispatch: Four-five to all units: he's taken the bait. Shoot to kill, repeat, shoot to kill.

Claude bails McAffrey in a full body cast out of the ambulance while the cops attempt to stop him. Claude then kills McAffrey, either by running him over or blowing him up. Mission complete.

Claude: Finally, go to sleep McAffrey.

Liberator

Claude goes to the rooftop of the Love Media Building in Bedford Point, where he meets Donald Love, the important businessman Ray Machowski referred to in Evidence Dash.

Donald: You must be Mr. Speed - the associate of Mr. Machowski. (Claude and Donald shake hands) First of all, let me thank you for dealing with that very personal matter.

Claude: I'm always in need of valuable commodities, Mr. Love. Especially money and information.

Donald: Understandable, however people will read something into anything these days. Experience has taught me that a man like you can be very loyal for the right price, but groups of men get greedy.

Claude: I see your point of view. When resources become valuable, people will do anything to get their hands on it, costs be damned.

Donald: Exactly - a valued resource, an old Oriental gentleman I know, has been kept hostage by some South Americans in Aspatria.

Claude: I know who you're referring to - I was in a SWAT van with that guy until we were ambushed on the Callahan Bridge and the Colombian Cartel took him away and blew the bridge to kingdom come.

Donald: To make matters worse, they're trying to extort additional funds from me, however we both know that we're not exactly men who believe in re-negotiation. A deal is a deal, so they'll not see a penny from me. Go and rescue my friend, do whatever it takes.

Claude: Your wish is my command, Mr. Love.

Claude spawns back down on street level.

Claude (talking to himself): This guy doesn't throw darts at a board - he's very legitimate. This is the very sort of connection I'll need to strike it rich!

Claude gets a Cartel Cruiser and infiltrates the Colombian Cartel compound in Aspatria to rescue the Old Oriental Gentleman.

Claude: Okay, you Colombian asswipes! Surrender the honorable gentleman NOW!

Claude finds the garage room that has the Oriental Gentleman and a Colombian Cartel member guarding him. Claude kills the Colombian Cartel member.

Claude: You're Mr. Love's acquaintance, right?

Oriental Gentleman: Hey, I know you - we were on that ambushed convoy!

Claude: I remember it like it was yesterday.

Oriental Gentleman: Those Colombian goons beat me up real good, it was like a torture chamber in there...

Claude: I'll get you to Mr. Love's place, don't worry. You'll be safe with me.

Claude and the Oriental Gentleman enter a vehicle and drive off to the Love Media Building in Bedford Point where he drops him off, completing the mission.

Waka-Gashira Wipeout!

Claude goes to see Donald Love at the rooftop of the Love Media Building, and they will collaborate on the best tactics to lower real estate prices.

Donald: Thank you for bringing the distinguished gentleman back to safety, Mr. Speed. You go by Claude, correct?

Claude: Yes, Mr. Love. I've been reading in the news of your determination to help improve real estate holdings across Liberty.

Donald: Indeed, and right now, I've been wanting to seize some new properties and ventures to build my investment portfolio, particularly along Staunton.

Claude: We're gonna have to clear the gangs out, and they won't budge.

Donald: Nothing drives down real estate prices like a good old-fashioned gang war, apart from an outbreak of plague... but that might be going too far in this case.

Claude: I know for a fact that the Yakuza and the Colombians are far from friends, and the Yardies aren't helping matters at all.

Donald: So, let's capitalize on this business opportunity. I know of your partnership with the Yakuza and respect it, and considering your alliance with the Kasens, this decision wasn't made lightly. In order to carry out this plan, you will need to eliminate the Yakuza Waka-gashira - Kenji Kasen.

Claude: Wait - Kenji's a good friend of mine, I don't see how I can do this to him -

Donald: I understand completely where you're coming from, Claude. I sympathize with your plight. I've had many business partners who proved themselves unfaithful to my own interests when I thought they had my back. Kenji has proved rather quarrelsome in situations where I once thought he was a reasonable potential partner. Look, Claude, the sooner we take Kenji out of the equation, the more certain we can be in our collective mission of ridding the undesirable elements of this place, and it'll put you in a better position to wreck the Colombian Cartel.

Claude: Then again, he did berate me for a screw-up I had absolutely nothing to do with as things turned out. And I have a prime opportunity to make the Colombians look really bad. I'm gonna have to say I'm in on your proposition.

Donald: Excellent, I knew we could both come to an agreement on Kenji's fate. If you do this just right, the Yakuza will not even suspect you and you should still remain within Asuka's good graces.

Claude: So, where is Kenji Kasen at the moment, Mr. Love?

Donald: Kenji is attending a meeting at the top of the multi-story carpark in Newport. Get a Cartel gangcar and eliminate him! Remember - the Yakuza must blame the Cartel for this declaration of war, so you'll have to use the element of plausible deniability to your advantage. Stop by later and I'll show you some insider trading and investing secrets that'll get you to the top real quick.

Claude: Consider it done, Mr. Love. You have my word.

Claude gets a Cartel Cruiser and heads for the Newport Multistory Car Park, where on the top floor, Kenji Kasen and several Yakuza members are having a meeting. Claude kills Kenji by either running him over at fast speed, performing a drive-by from a distance or by using a rocket launcher and shooting the ceiling of a floor directly underneath. Either way, Claude escapes the Yakuza before they can recognize him and then dumps the Cartel Cruiser as soon as he leaves Newport. Mission complete.

Claude: Sorry, Kenji.

A Drop In The Ocean

At the rooftop of the Love Media Building in Bedford Point, Donald Love and the Oriental Gentleman are practicing martial arts. Claude soon enters, but before Donald and Claude talk with each other, Donald and the Oriental Gentleman part ways for the day.

Claude: I see you're aware of the latest fitness trends, Mr. Love?

Donald: The gentleman you rescued for me from the Colombians, we both go way back. He's been my mentor on martial arts and the secrets the elite and powerful have at their disposal to be the fittest for survival. Perhaps I'll get you onto my regiment someday, Claude.

Claude: Certain valuable commodities can be hard to export, I take it.

Donald: Especially in these days of moral hypocrisy, my friend. For now, you should know that a light aircraft will pass over the bay on its approach to the airport tonight. It will drop several packages into the water, and they are paramount to an operation of mine. Make sure you pick them up before anyone else does, Claude.

Claude: I'll let you know when it's done, Mr. Love.

Claude gets a boat, then heads south of Portland to intercept a plane, which eventually gets in range and drops 6 packages. Claude collects the packages and heads back to the Love Media Building, having accrued a five-star wanted level. When Claude drops off the packages at the Love Media Building, the mission passes. Shoreside Vale is now accessible to the player, and upon entry into any vehicle, the following message is played on the radio (regardless of whether it is tuned into a station or not):

Reporter: Good news to commuters from Shoreside: engineers have finally managed to repair the damaged mechanism on the Staunton Lift Bridge and it is now open to traffic flow both to and from Shoreside Vale.

The Porter Tunnel is also now open between Shoreside Vale and Staunton Island, and the entire map is now open to the player to explore.
